Welcome to BTPL

The Brock Township Public Library consists of three branches in Beaverton, Cannington and Sunderland. Brock Township is located at the north end of Durham Region.

The Brock Township Public Library provides a vital community service. Through the assistance of a well-trained staff, people of all ages have the doors to lifelong learning opened. We provide you with the necessary tools needed to further your education and respond to both your entertainment and social needs.

In strengthening our resources, networks and partnerships, we are a key contributor to the vitality and development of our communities.

At a personal level, libraries provide us with a broad range of information, resources and tools to assist us through all stages of our lives regardless of age, gender, race, religion, social status or language.

At a broader level, libraries are important components of our society as centres of knowledge, disseminators of information, custodians of history and culture and gathering places for the exchange of information and ideas.

A strong library system is the cornerstone of a strong community.

With more than 1,100 service points throughout Ontario, public library patrons have access to over 100 million items and make over 66 million visits to local libraries across Ontario annually. And now virtually every library branch in the province also provides access to electronic information through the Internet.
